The members of Board are the anchor that grounds our agency. They secure our position and provide stability against the waves, tides and currents that might send us adrift.

President, Board of Directors

Joe was elected to the Board in 2008 and has been serving as President since 2018. He is a Plant Manager with Sun Chemical in Burlington, a member of the Business Community, very supportive of inclusive employment and experienced with Community Living Hamilton’s Employment Access service.

Kathy Scarth
First Vice-President

Kathy Scarth was elected in 2012 and has been serving on the Board of Directors as First Vice-President since 2018. She is currently a retired Secondary Teacher and Consultant. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Education, Honours Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Biology and a Special Education Certificate Part I & II. She has an adult child with disability.

Randy Allen
Director

Randy Allen has been serving on the Board of Directors since 2010. He is a retired entrepreneur/Insurance Broker, and spent the first 12 years of his career with Canada Customs in Ottawa in a variety of positions.

Judy Colantino
Director

Judy was elected for the Board of Directors in 2007. She also serves as Vice-Chair at the Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton and Chair at Hamilton Wentworth District School Board Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC.) Judy has an adult son with an intellectual disability.

Megan Hemlow
Secretary

Megan Hemlow was elected to the Board of Directors in June, 2017. She holds a position in the Mental Health and Addiction program at St Joseph’s Hospital, and has a private practice of her own where she offers individual counselling. She has both a bachelor and masters degree in social work, along with a certificate of addictions.

Director

Peter has been serving on the Board of Directors since 2001. He recently retired as Human Resources Specialist at ArcelorMittal Dofasco G.P. Peter has also volunteered as coach for the Special Olympics.
